Sonny's TTA Case

Sonny's Knee pre-op shows some early arthritis and significant joint swelling classic for the parital ACL tear he had.  Sonny had been slow to rise for a few months and would be noticably lame for 20 minutes after rising.

Post-op you can see the cut that was made on the front part of the bone and a large plate applied in a tension-band technique with a metal spacer to hold the bones in the correct position while they heal.  We are finding that the TTA dogs reach final healing about 2-3 weeks faster than the TPLO.  Consequently we are able to push the rehab program along a little faster.

Sonny 6 weeks post-op.  He was walking 85% use of that leg at this point already.   Osteotomy wedge is nearly fully healed and his exercise restrcitions were removed to resume slow return to full activity outside over the next 3 weeks.  Dr. Katie, Dr. Brad and our 2 orthopedic techs all have additional training in Canine Rehab.  We are able to custom design a rehab program based on your dogs use of limb, and specific muscles groups that need to be exercised.
